Spit-up happens! Have a change of clothes picked out for both you and baby, as well as any siblings in case an accident happens.

You're doing amazing! I highly recommend pampering yourself for this session. You just went through a life-changing event, and I know all too well that time for yourself is sparse these days. Whether it's browsing online for a new outfit or getting your hair done, use these photos as an excuse to do something for YOU!

Dear Mama,

03

While your entire house doesn't need to be spotless, I do recommend lightly cleaning the nursery and places you think we might take photos. This might include your bedroom, the living room, or spots in your home with abundant natural light (near big windows). Please do not worry about dishes in the sink! I've been there, and I promise I don't care!

Preparing your home

backup Outfits

I recommend changing your little one's diaper and feeding them right before I arrive. However, due to the tiny size of their tummies, it's also likely that they'll need another feed (and maybe a diaper change) during the session. Please do not worry if we have to pause photos! Your new baby is the biggest priority and I always leave wiggle room so we have plenty of time.

For outfits, I recommend keeping it neutral! A soft, earth-toned color like cream, olive, or blush for your baby photographs wonderfully! Textures like knit also photograph well and help bring dimension into the photos. I will bring some fabric diaper covers, baby wraps, and a selection of knit outfits for baby! You are welcome to use anything from my collection.

Tips on preparing for your in-home session with your new best friend.

Newborns

a note about

Yes, you are able to print the images on your own. Every session includes a print release that allows you to print photos from wherever you choose! If you do this, I recommend making sure the printer does not automatically color correct the images and making sure you are using a high-quality service.

For maximum quality, I LOVE offering prints to my clients through their online galleries. Photos will be delivered directly to your front door and I can guarantee beautiful results!

Can I and/or family members print the images on our own?

q:

My newborn sessions include 75 retouched images. There will be a mixture of color and black and white edits! Turn-around times vary depending on season, bit I aim to deliver your full gallery within 3 weeks.

A:

How many images will I receive and when?

q:

My standard newborn sessions are 60-90 minutes. I like to leave wiggle room for feedings and soothing babe, and I don't want anything to feel rushed.

Questions

A signed contract and 50% deposit is due to reserve your estimated due date on my calendar. Because babies like to arrive on their own time, I will have you reach out when baby arrives OR if you have a scheduled induction or c-section date. I only schedule a limited number of newborns per month to ensure I have availability. Once your little one arrives, we will determine the best date and time for me to come for photos!

A:

How does scheduling work?

q:

I recommend scheduling between 5 and 21 days of age, with two weeks being the "sweet spot."

can we include our dogs?

A:

Please do!!  I worked in the veterinary field for a decade and love when fur siblings are included :)
